Faculty Participation Fall 2025 Update
Commencement is a special time for our graduates and guests. The participation of members of the faculty emphasizes the value and importance of the guidance, leadership, and support given to our students.
The stage party will be limited to those with speaking roles only. There will be two designated hooders for the Fall 2025 Graduate Ceremony. Dissertation Advisors may walk with their candidate(s) and stand next to them as the designated hooders hood each graduate.

| Grand Marshal |
This faculty member is selected by the Faculty Senate, according to the Faculty Manual A6.4, to carry the academic mace. The Grand Marshal will be seated on stage. |

Assemble at H-100 Room at the Watsco Center. Details will be sent to the Grand Marshal. |
| Academic Banner Marshals |
These faculty members are selected by the Dean to carry the school banner. Banner Marshals will be seated on stage. |

This faculty member is selected by the Faculty Senate to carry the Faculty Banner. The Faculty Senate Banner Marshal will be seated on stage. |

Faculty Senate Banner Marshals assemble at H-100 Room at the Watsco Center. Details will be sent to the Faculty Senate Banner Marshals. |
| General Faculty |
All faculty are encouraged to participate in Commencement. General Faculty are seated with the candidates for graduation in the first section of the arena floor. |
Academic Procession |
General Faculty assemble at the Hecht Rehearsal and Studio Complex. Details will be sent to the General Faculty who register to participate on time. |
| Designated Hooders |
Designated faculty assigned to be designated hooder during the ceremony are seated on stage. |
President's Procession |
Designated Hooders assemble at the H-100 Room at the Watsco Center. Details regarding the ceremony and rehearsal will be sent to the Designated Hooders. |
| Dissertation Advisors |
Advisors of Ph.D., D.M.A. and Ed.D. candidates may escort their students at commencement for hooding and are seated next to the candidate for graduation. |

Formation of Processions for Candidates and Faculty
The Academic Procession consists of the Grand Marshal, Academic and Faculty Banner Marshals, participating general faculty, and the candidates for the degrees (if applicable dissertation advisors).
The President's Procession includes the President, Provost, Presiding Trustee, Deans, Designated Hooders, and Honorary Degree Recipient/Speaker.
- Academic Procession will enter the Watsco Center fifteen minutes prior to the ceremony start time.
- Stage Party will assemble in the H-100 Room at the Watsco Center one hour prior to the start of the ceremony and march with the President's Procession. The President's Procession will enter the Watsco Center promptly at the advertised ceremony start time after the Academic Procession.
