Faculty Participation Spring 2024 Update
Commencement is a special time for our graduates and guests. The participation of members of the faculty emphasizes the value and importance of the guidance, leadership and support given to our students.
The stage party will be limited to those with speaking roles only. There will be two designated hooders for the Spring 2024 Graduate Ceremony. Dissertation Advisors may walk with their candidate(s) and stand next to them as the designated holders hood each graduate.

Formation of Processions for Candidates and Faculty
The Academic Procession consists of the candidates for the degrees, participating general faculty and designated hooders, Grand Marshal, as well as Academic and Faculty Banner Marshals. The Academic Procession will enter the Watsco Center, led by the Grand Marshal, fifteen minutes prior to the ceremony start time.
The President's Procession includes the President, Provost, Presiding Trustee, Deans, and Banner Marshals. The President's Procession will enter the Watsco Center after the Academic Procession, promptly at the advertised ceremony start time.
- Grand Marshal, Banner Marshals, Faculty Marshals, and General Faculty will all gather in the Hurricane-100 (H-100) Room at the Watsco Center half an hour prior to the ceremony start time and will march with the Academic Procession.
- Stage Party will assemble in the Thomas P. Murphy Design Studio Building in the School of Architecture one hour prior to the start of the ceremony and march with the President's Procession.
